Biography
The Journey
Halldór was born in 1948 in Reykjavík, where he has lived most of his life. He is a master craftsman in electronics and was Telecom’s technical manager for North Iceland from 1968 to 1978. He then worked for Samhjálp from 1978 to 1984, in insurance sales from 1984 to 1988 and for the Red Cross in Iceland from 1988 to 1990.
From 1990 to 1993 he lived with his family in Johannesburg, South Africa. His publishing career began there in 1991 and continued until 2010, promotional books for countries on four continents, including the New Millennium Series and the Today Series.
He then moved into video production in Iceland and the Faroe Islands, later initiated Laufey Welcome Center, and in 2022 formed Landnýting ehf., his current project.

After his publishing years, Halldór turned to video production. Through Kaja Studios, the Iceland Channel and the Faroe Islands Channel, over 300 promotional videos were produced in Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
Landnýting, Current Project

Halldór founded Landnýting ehf. with Þorkell Sigurlaugsson in 2022. Þorkell served as managing director for its first three years. Today Halldór’s full-time focus is the development of high-tech greenhouses in Iceland, with tomato cultivation planned for the first phase.

Personal
Halldór married Björg Davíðsdóttir in 1978; they have five children and four grandchildren. A member of the Pentecostal church in Iceland since he was 19, in 1987 he and his sister, Guðrún Margrét Pálsdóttir, founded ABC Children's Aid with close friends.
